چکیده
This work proposes a green material for artificial reefs to be placed in Galicia (northwest Spain) taking into account the principles of circular economy and sustainability ecosystem. New concrete formulations marine applications, based on cement and/or sand replacement by mussel shells, are analyzed terms resistance abrasion. The interest lies importance canning industry Galicia, which generates important quantities shell residues with negative environmental consequences. Currently, tests determine abrasion erosion hydraulic structures involve large complex devices. According this, an experimental test has been proposed estimate compare wear these concretes and, consequently, analyze performance structures. First, numerical analysis validated data was conducted design test. Subsequently, were performed using slurry tank samples conventional partially replaced shell. abrasive effect components monitoring mass loss. It shows asymptotic trend respect time that modeled Generalized Additive Model (GAM) nonlinear regression models. results compared containing only sand. Replacing different proportions shells not significantly reduced against erosive degradation, except case where high amount (20 wt.%) is replaced. Its increased, losing between 0.1072 0.0310 wt.% lower than common concrete. In all remaining cases (replacements 5–10 cement), degradation significant. These encourage use composition concrete, we obtain same properties, even more so considering residue (and part seabed) can valorized.

متن کاملConstruction of statistically reliable sclerochronology using subfossil shells of river pearl mussel
Sclerochronology is based on series of skeletal growth records that have been correctly aligned in time. These chronologies have so far been derived from living bivalves and corals. Here we demonstrate the possibility of constructing the sclerochronology from a suite of river pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera (L.)) shells with unknown but at least partly overlapping geological age. Subs...
متن کاملBuckling Analysis of Concrete Spherical Shells
In some simple two-dimensional structures it is sufficient to determine only the lowest value of the load at which buckling commences. However, in the case of shells, it may be also necessary to investigate the postbuckling behavior because it has an important bearing on the magnitude of the failure load. The importance of the postbuckling behavior, which the small deflection theory of buckling...
